Every human being has seven energy centers that are called chakras. When we receive love, kindness, and blessings from our divine source, a lot of these positive energies spin around and fill us with joy. However, when we don’t receive the same amount of love and blessings from our source or when negativity fills us up and we don’t know how to expel it, the negative energies shorten and contract into the chakras. These negative energies blockages may cause physical symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, and stress.

There are 7 chakras in our body:

  1. Root Chakra
  2. Sacral Chakra
  3. Solar Plexus Chakra
  4. Heart Chakra
  5. Throat Chakra
  6. Third Eye Chakra
  7. Crown Chakra

7 Chakras

1. Root Chakra

Root Chakra is associated with grounding and stability. It helps us to remain stable so that we can face whatever challenges come our way. It is also referred to as the root essence point of energy because it connects us to our physical self, instincts and pure spring energy from Mother Earth.

6. Third Eye Chakra

The third eye is understood to be connected to our cognitive processes, imagination and clairvoyance. 7. Crown Chakra

This chakra is believed to be located at the crown of the head. It corresponds to our pineal gland that secretes melatonin and helps control our sleep-wake cycles. Third Eye Chakra https://www.ceylanayik.com/third-eye-chakra/ https://www.ceylanayik.com/third-eye-chakra/#respond Thu, 18 Aug 2022 16:52:03 +0000 https://www.ceylanayik.com/?p=6039 The third eye chakra, also known as the Ajna chakra in Sanskrit, is one of the seven main chakras in yoga. It is located between the eyebrows and represents our connection with our inner self.

Third Eye

The third eye is understood to be connected to our cognitive processes, imagination and clairvoyance. People who have an open connection with their higher self are said to have strong third-eye vision. It connects to the pituitary gland in our brain and also the pineal gland which is located in the center of our brain. Both these glands have a role to play in spiritual development. When they are blocked, people can experience spiritual blindness or low self-esteem. The reasons behind their blockages are varied. But common denominators are fear of rejection, lack of trust, loneliness, unresolved trauma from childhood or struggles with peer pressure.

Healing the Third Eye Chakra

The opening of this chakra enables us see universal or higher-dimensional images and even meet deceased loved ones who have crossed over into another realm. Our third eye is a fulcrum point that balances our physical bodies with other aspects of ourselves.

By training your inner silence, you can start seeing how your mind reacts to different situations. This will give you greater control over your thoughts and emotions as well as a better understanding of yourself (which is an essential part of making positive changes in your life). One major way we accomplish inner silence is through using a chakra called the Third Eye Chakra (also known as Ajna or ‘third eye’).

Blocked Third Eye Chakra

When it’s blocked or not open, we can experience a variety of negative consequences including anxiety, fear and low self-esteem. A blocked third eye can also lead to visual disturbances such as headaches, migraines and photophobia. Blocked third eye chakra can lead us to psychic abilities, enlightenment, and even astral projection.

Solar Plexus Chakra https://www.ceylanayik.com/solar-plexus-chakra/ https://www.ceylanayik.com/solar-plexus-chakra/#respond Wed, 03 Aug 2022 16:40:40 +0000 https://www.ceylanayik.com/?p=6002 The third chakra, or energy center, is the solar plexus chakra. This energy center is associated with the stomach and digestive system. Keeping this chakra balanced will help you feel more secure and confident in yourself and your abilities. This chakra is responsible for your willpower, drive, purposefulness and personal courage. It also controls how much passion you have for life. If you don’t feel confident about yourself or what you stand for then this chakra can become blocked which will prevent you from living an authentic life.

Importance of Balancing

When your solar plexus chakra is balanced, you feel like you have plenty of potential left to explore and grow. You feel confident about yourself, but not arrogant or egotistical.

When It Is Unbalanced

This chakra represents our ability to take control and make smart decisions for ourselves. It activates when we trust our intuition and have a strong sense of knowing what’s best for us, as well as when we take risks to pursue our goals. It’s known as the power chakra, because it provides power to all other chakras and energy centers in your body. The solar plexus also plays an important role in digestion and metabolism by sending signals to your small intestine so that food can be properly digested.

When this chakra is blocked or unbalanced you can experience anxiety and other negative emotions due to outer circumstances or inner struggle with thoughts or beliefs that do not feel true for you. This imbalance can manifest physically in stomach problems, nervous habits like biting your nails or hair, anxiousness about decision-making and an inability to trust in others or yourself unconditionally.

How to Heal Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)

To open up this chakra again, start practicing the energy techniques of kundalini yoga such as bija (seed) mantras. Or pranayama breathing exercises, and yogic mudra hand gestures. You can also visualize yourself receiving strength from above while lifting your personal power up through your chest. So that it fills all seven chakras at once.

Sacral Chakra https://www.ceylanayik.com/sacral-chakra/ https://www.ceylanayik.com/sacral-chakra/#respond Sun, 31 Jul 2022 11:50:47 +0000 https://www.ceylanayik.com/?p=5990 The Sacral Chakra is the second chakra (energy center) located in the sacrum and it is associated with our ability to trust, nurture, and connect. It also helps to empower sexuality and sense of self-empowerment. The Sacral Chakra governs our ability to love, trust and be intimate. It has a strong connection to our reproductive organs and instincts. The word ‘SACRAL’ means ‘sacred place’, which hints at its link with spirituality. People often have sexual intercourse in this chakra which is why it’s called the reproductive chakra. This chakra governs our strong sexual instincts, our desire to procreate, and our need for security.

Balanced Sacral Chakra

When the it is balanced, this means that we have a sense of rightness with ourselves about who we are sexually. We feel connected to our bodies, home and nature through this center. This can translate into feeling grounded and present when we’re connecting intimately with another person.

Imbalanced Sacral Chakra

When it’s imbalanced, we may feel disconnected from ourselves and our bodies or even scared or anxious about what that means for us sexually. Those who are blocked here may feel as if they lack a sense of purpose in life; they may also feel as if they are locked inside themselves and cannot express themselves directly to other people. They may also feel very sensitive about their own body image and unable to accept their own physical beauty.

How to Understand If It is Blocked?

A blocked or weak sacral chakra can lead to impulsive behavior that you regret later on or sexual abuse as an adult if it was neglected earlier in life. If you have ever felt like you were acting out some scenarios for no apparent reason, then it could be something related to this chacra. Being under stress for long period of time can lead to anxiety attacks or even panic attacks especially if you repress your emotions and don’t deal with them rationally.- You end up hiding all your emotions because you’re afraid that someone will

How to Heal?

To clear blockages in sacral chakra, it’s essential to honor your body through mindful self-care practices. Daily yoga, meditation, eating nourishing food that tastes good, getting lots of rest and positive self-image exercises like journaling...

Root Chakra https://www.ceylanayik.com/root-chakra/ https://www.ceylanayik.com/root-chakra/#respond Wed, 27 Jul 2022 08:43:31 +0000 https://www.ceylanayik.com/?p=5975 The root chakra, in Sanskrit is known as āṇḍa varttṛ or simply aṇḍa, is one of the seven chakras in human beings which are energy centers located at the base of the spine. It is associated with grounding and stability. It helps us to remain stable so that we can face whatever challenges come our way. Things may not always go our way, but if we’re grounded and centered, we will be able to keep going no matter what happens. The root chakra doesn’t just help us to remain stable; it also connects us to the earth and everything on it. It gives us an innate sense of belonging and a deep connection to the natural world around us. We feel grounded whenever we’re in contact with Mother Earth and her surrounding environment.

As A Base Chakra…

The base chakra controls movement and instinct at an animal level, while the end chakra controls spiritual awareness at an upper-self level. These two aspects of emotions, thoughts, instincts and spirituality work together to establish our identity and purpose in life. In Chinese medicine, this area is known as Cheng Chi or Spring Urgent Point or SUREP for short. It is also referred to as the root essence point of energy because it connects us to our physical self, instincts and pure spring energy from Mother Earth.

Root Chakra Imbalance

Having a Root Chakra imbalance can make it difficult to feel grounded and connected with the Earth and your spiritual self. When this chakra is blocked, it can cause feelings of anxiety, fear, and insecurity. It also makes it difficult for the individual to trust their instincts or listen to their inner voice.

When it is out of balance, we can experience tension before moving into fear or other uncomfortable emotions. The root chakra governs our instincts, sexuality, aggression, power, life force energy, and instinctual survival responses necessary to stay safe in any situation. A blocked or weak chakra manifests as insecurity, fearfulness, low self-esteem or depression. A strong root allows us to take risks while remaining grounded in ourselves and others.

Throat Chakra https://www.ceylanayik.com/throat-chakra/ https://www.ceylanayik.com/throat-chakra/#respond Sun, 24 Jul 2022 08:35:50 +0000 https://www.ceylanayik.com/?p=5954 The Throat Chakra is the fifth chakra and called Visuddha in Sanskrit. It represents communication, self-expression and creativity. The Throat Chakra is located in the throat, and it is a representation of self-expression. It is the center of communication, and it governs how we relate to others. The Throat Chakra governs our ability to speak out when we have something on our mind. It’s color is blue and it’s associated with the element of sound or ether.

What Does Visuddha Mean?

Visuddha means “to purify” or “make pure.” The visuddha chakra helps us achieve this goal by activating our throats so we can express ourselves freely without any hesitation or self-consciousness. This gives us confidence as well as clarity when speaking out against injustice or oppression–whether it be in regards to gender equality, racial equality, sexual orientation discrimination–all issues that require courage in order not only speak up but also act out against injustice.

Balanced / Unbalanced Throat Chakra

The throat chakra represents communication, self-expression and creativity. When this chakra is balanced, you’re able to express yourself with confidence, clarity, and ease. You’re able to speak your truth and listen to others’ truths without feeling defensive or threatened by them. You are confident that you are heard and understood, which helps you build healthy relationships with others.

When this chakra is unbalanced, you may feel anxious about expressing yourself in any way—speaking up at work meetings, talking to potential dates, or asking for help when you need it. You may also find it difficult to listen to other people’s opinions without feeling judged or criticized by them. This can lead to isolation or misunderstandings in relationships.

Heart Chakra https://www.ceylanayik.com/heart-chakra/ https://www.ceylanayik.com/heart-chakra/#respond Fri, 22 Jul 2022 15:57:36 +0000 https://www.ceylanayik.com/?p=5936 The Heart Chakra, also known as Anahata in Sanskrit which means “unhurt, unstruck, and unbeaten”, is related to love, compassion and connection with others. The heart chakra is connected to the physical heart, but it also represents emotional aspects of a person. If your Heart Chakra is balanced, you will feel like you share unconditional love with everyone. The balance of this chakra can be disrupted by fear or anger, which can lead to physical illness.

It’s number four on a traditional chakra chart (some schools of thought have it as number five). It represents love, compassion, forgiveness and joy—all positive emotions that make us feel good. It also helps us connect with others: through friendship, family or romance. Its colour is green.

The Importance of A Balanced Heart Chakra

A healthy heart chakra is a sign that you are able to share unconditional love with everyone. This means feeling a sense of peace and calm, being able to empathise with others, and being open to new experiences. If your heart chakra is balanced, you will be in touch with your sense of self-worth. Your outlook on life will be positive and you won’t let other people’s opinions affect how much value you place on yourself as a human being.

In my yoga classes, I explain how to balance your heart chakra. Click to see the yoga schedule: Yoga Classes

Crown Chakra https://www.ceylanayik.com/crown-chakra/ https://www.ceylanayik.com/crown-chakra/#respond Tue, 19 Jul 2022 10:20:30 +0000 https://www.ceylanayik.com/?p=5905 The Crown Chakra is also known as Sahasrara Chakra in Sanskrit which means “thousand-petalled lotus”. This chakra is believed to be located at the crown of the head. It corresponds to our pineal gland that secretes melatonin and helps control our sleep-wake cycles. Crown chakra is the seventh chakra, and it is all about imagination, self-knowledge, spirituality and divinity—how you connect with others. When this chakra is in balance, you’ll have a sense of peace and feel connected to nature.

The color of the crown chakra is violet or white. The energy of this chakra is very high and it reflects in the color of the sky and sun.

Crown Chakra Healing Benefits:

  • It helps with depression
  • It helps you sleep better at night
  • Helps with anxiety disorders

7th Chakra: Crown Chakra

The crown chakra is associated with our sense of self, confidence, and spirituality. When it’s out of balance it can cause us to feel disconnected from ourselves or others. You may feel like you don’t belong in this world or that you have nothing worthwhile to contribute. You might not know who you are or what purpose your life serves.

There are a few ways that can restore balance: meditation, yoga / meditation classes (even just simple breathing exercises), crystals and essential oils like lavender; eating healthy foods; being open to change when necessary (even if it means letting go altogether).

Crown Chakra Helps You to Discover Yourself

Imagination is one of the most important things we have as humans. Without it, we would be unable to create anything new—we wouldn’t be able to imagine ourselves in a different place or time than where we currently exist. Imagination allows us to envision our future selves as better versions of ourselves than who we are right now; it helps us visualise what could become possible with effort and dedication (or perhaps even without).

This ability means that you can use your imagination in order to get yourself out of a rut (that may have been caused by too much negativity), or simply allow yourself some time away from reality so that you can relax and refocus on what matters most: yourself!

Ways to Work with Crown Chakra

Here are some ways you can work with your crown chakra:

  • Meditation: Meditation is a great way to connect with your higher self and connect with the energy of the universe. Even for 5 minutes – is a tool that you can easily practice to help you feel calmer, more centred, more objective, in tune with your body, in touch with your feelings… You can meditate by sitting in a cross-legged position, closing your eyes, and focusing on deep breathing for five minutes every morning or evening.
  • Crystals: Crystals have properties that help them align with certain chakras—the crown chakra being one of them! Meditating while holding an amethyst crystal will help release any negative energy lingering in this area and bring more clarity into life situations overall.
  • Essential oils (EO): EOs such as rosemary essential oil can help promote balance throughout all seven energy centres at once. You can apply through massaging on your skin using light pressure strokes up towards heart area during inhalation.

Meditation Helps

Meditation is an excellent way to calm the mind and receive new information from your higher self. If you aren’t familiar with meditation, try this simple exercise:

  • Sit in a comfortable chair with your back straight but relaxed (don’t slouch)Place one hand over the other in a cupped position at heart level on your lap or on a table in front of you so that it creates some space under it for air flow between hands
  • Close your eyes for two minutes then open them for two minutes; repeat until done!

You may want to choose a mantra like Om-mani padme hum or another word that has meaning for you such as love or peace. By repeating this sound repeatedly during meditation we are opening ourselves up emotionally as well as spiritually which allows us access into deeper parts of ourselves where healing can take place on all levels including physical, mental and spiritual levels!
