Aloe Breeze https://www.ceylanayik.com/aloe-breeze/ https://www.ceylanayik.com/aloe-breeze/#respond Wed, 14 Aug 2024 10:22:05 +0000 https://www.ceylanayik.com/?p=9089 If you are feeling acidity, indigestion, heartburn, and if you have some constipation problems, here is another great way to cool down during these hot summer days.

๐ŸŒน Start your day with aloe vera juice with some rose water.

๐Ÿฅ›You can buy ready 100% Aloevera juice or you can make your own by simply mixing with water.

๐Ÿ’ฆ Adding a few drops of rosewater will give a taste as well as more cooling and calming effect.

๐ŸงŠ Try this instead of iced and acidic drinks and you will feel cooler much longer and without disturbing your digestive capacity.

๐Ÿซ– After this water, have the cooling tea (recipe in my post just before this) and see the difference in you during these hot days and when you have hot flashes during menopause.

Note: not recommended during pregnancy!

Cucumber & Coconut & Lime & Mint Smoothie

Refreshing but not frozen Smoothies to Cool Down!
Did you know that the best way to cool down is not ice cold drinks or ice-creams!! I did not know and recently learned from my Ayurveda training that ice cold of anything may feel like cooling you at first but then it blocks/slows down the digestion and so your body will need more energy to get back to its digestive energy and so heats you up again after a short while.Instead, room temperature drinks, made with cooling herbs, fruits, spices will give you better refreshment!๐Ÿ˜
Here is one of my favourite and you can always play around with other ingredients at home. Make sure you do not make it too sour or salty as it would increase the heat and instead make it slightly sweet and use the cooling spices in the ingredients. Enjoy!

Red Rose Tea Recipe

Refresh your days with red rose tea!
This beautiful coloured tea is a mix of rose, hibiscus, and mint leaves plus coriander and fennel seeds and with a drop of lime juice and if you like a drop of maple syrup. These are all ingredients nature send you for cooling down in hot summer days. It is also a nice alternative drink for other seasons too. I never tried rose tea before and now, inspired from two beautiful women, @lauraplumb and Lisa @soulfoodbakery, I am in love with it!
Rose is a symbol of love, beauty and spirituality & used in Ayurveda to balance the five elements and its anti-aging effects. It is soothing and astringent ( a taste we do not get enough among the 6 tastes)
In Ayurveda, it is advised not to drink iced drinks even in hot summer days. Ice blocks digestion and even if it feels cooling at first, it will create heaviness due to its extreme effect on digestion.
Instead of ice, try these cooling teas at room temperature and youโ€™ll see the difference in your sensations and hydration.
I dried my own roses from the garden, so make sure you use organic rose petals. I made a tea and and also using condensation method, a rose water tonic, too but thatโ€™s another post soon.
You can also make a tea from only fennel, mint, hibiscus or rose petals separately and all will be delicious and refreshing with a drop of lime juice. Take this time to slow down, smell, enjoy the beautiful color and pause your busy life for this moment.
In addition to being a delicious hydrating tea, it will also help you to ease your stomach, acidic digestion, calm and sooth your soul!

Rose tea is rich in antioxidants (Vitamin C & E), reduces stress and anxiety, aids digestion, and supports immune function.

Pumpkin Seed Chai Latte

Spring is Kapha Season, it is the time to melt the winter cold and stagnation and a great time to eliminate toxins to get a stronger internal digestive fire and improve your circulation. It is is time to heat the system and move, move move!
This season go for greens! Especially parsley, coriander, basil, mustard greens, any wild greens in your area. Also go for dark and leafy greens to support your bodyโ€™s internal spring cleansing process.
Use spices like turmeric, ginger, clove, cumin, black pepper, cayenne to support this fire and heating process. Pay attention to your dosha when you use spices like cayenne and black pepper, since Vata dosha needs less.
Pumpkin seeds are also known as pepitas, and great snack for a person trying to lose weight as they abate hunger. While they are heavy, oily and satisfying, they are also easy to digest and have been shown to regulate insulin levels. They have of the most essential amino acids, proteins, Vitamin E, B complex and the other most important minerals such as magnesium, calcium, potassium, manganese to name a few. The health benefits of the pumpkin seeds are extensive.
